Not Far to Where You Are

There are a lot of things you want to do.
There are a lot of things you want to become - A marine biologist and an astronomer to be specific.
Over a year ago, I saw a photo of you when you were still at kindergarten with a written caption “I want to be an astronomer”. Sure you did, we always talk about the universe and movies with their every scene in space.
You are a Science nerd and you always share about the pile of information which I label the “random stuff” in your pretty brain. You shared every piece of information you thought I’d enjoy every time you’re beside me as I wait for slumber. You nurtured my mind by keeping my brain cells alive!
Alive. That is a word that is intertwined with time. Without time, it simply ceases to exist. These very phrases are the embryonic points why sadness intertwined my life-line. “My time’s up”. –Three words you left me hollow and wanting. You have elaborated your life without time and therefore haunting.
The thought scared every inch of me and so to keep your memory like a pastel painting in a fresh canvass. I referred the loss into a much heightened regard – space.
For the past couple of days, I have been watching Cosmos and studied all of its grandeur. With my mediocre brain compared to yours, I tried identifying my cosmic address and thought that maybe you are just somewhere our galaxy or in another galaxy. Floating. In awe. Worshiping the marvelous creation which has developed subsequent to the big bang over billions of years – You may have lost the gift of time to be what you want but embraced all eternity to be an astronomer who studies both the simplicity and complexity of space.
A chord has struck me deeply. While you’re floating in that timeless space; does the “I will never forget you and will continue loving you” phrases still ring true? If so, can you locate my cosmic address? If you now have, can you stay just a breath away?
